Junko Nakao, originally from Hiroshima, Japan, set off for the United States in her twenties to further her education. Enchanted by the breathtaking landscapes of the Southwest, she started to paint the captivating desert vistas. Around 2020, in the middle of Covid pandemic, she was inspired by celebrated artists like Trevor Chamberlain, Joseph Zbukvic and Andy Evansen, and dedicated herself to pursuing a career as a professional artist. Her journeys to diverse countries ignite her creativity, enabling her to express the distinct character of each place she visits, while her admiration for Japan’s beautiful temples and the stunning natural wonders of Wild America continually influence her artistic perspective.
