New Location:
Balloon Fiesta Park, Albuquerque, NM

Produced by the Rio Grande Community Farm

Through events like Lavender in the Village, the Farm connects people with the land, with each other, and with the agricultural traditions that shape our region.

THE POSTER & THE ARTIST

Claudia Zamora

Congratulations to Claudia Zamora whose Sweet Smell of Lavender was selected by a panel of judges to be the official art of the 2024 Lavender in the Village Festival commemorative poster.

Claudia Zamora has called New Mexico home for the past 20 years. Her artistic journey spans various forms of art, with a special emphasis on watercolor painting. Creating a portrait of her beloved Schnauzer, Frida, revealed to her the healing power of art. Since then, Claudia has been passionate about sharing this joy by creating pet portraits and teaching art. She also shares her art through Gerda, the Fahrt Z Art Bus (a 1969 VW Bus), an ever-evolving canvas for the community to write or draw their positive messages. Part of her mission is to empower young and old to keep making art.
